ROLE &
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·
Greeting each customer in a
prompt, courteous manner, letting customers who are waiting in line know that
they will be helped soon;
·
Communicating with service
customers to determine the nature of the mechanical problems;
·
Securing agreement from customers
before repairs; covering cost estimate; and approximate time when vehicle's
work will be completed;
·
Maintaining a
dealership-prescribed standard for "hours per customer repair order
written";
·
Advising customers on the care of
their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with the
manufacturer's specifications, using maintenance menus;
·
Explaining optional services,
warranty information, and policies to customers;
·
Handling minor customer complaints
and misunderstandings;
•
Communicating the need for additional work when needed, explaining the details
to the customer, including the additional cost and time consideration, and
documenting properly on the repair order;
•
Following up on the progress of each repair order during the day, contacting
customers regarding changes in the estimate or time promised;
•
Handling telephone inquiries regarding work in process and appointments and
returning phone messages promptly;
•
Staying up to date on technical and performance information on all vehicles
serviced by the dealership;
•
Advising customers of parts ordered and making an appointment to have them
installed before the customer leaves;
•
Refer leads and prospects for vehicle sales to the new and pre-owned sales
departments;
•
Assisting the Service Manager as necessary.
KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
•
1 to 3 years of Service Advisor experience;
•
Ability to multi-task, organize and be detail-oriented;
•
Clean Drivers Abstract.
